the Story
Growing up as a fourth-generation Californian, I spent countless hours fishing with my family across the San Francisco Bay area's diverse aquatic landscapes. These early experiences, combined with my deep love for my parents' Genízaro, Salvadoreño and African cultures, have fueled my passion for water and commitment to creating an inclusive and responsible fishing environment.

Why fly fishing?
On a rainy day in Oakland I stumbled upon a fly rod at a garage sale and decided to teach myself how to cast it. That moment ignited a lifelong passion for fly fishing, leading me to start Running Bear Fly Co. I believe that a day spent on the river can be a transformative experience, offering not only the thrill of fishing but also a profound connection to the environment.
