Drift Boat Rowing Classes
Lesson Overview
Why Book a Rowing Lesson?
Rowing a drift boat isn’t just about pulling oars — it’s about reading water, making safe decisions, and learning to move with the river instead of fighting against it. Whether you’re brand new to rowing or want to sharpen your skills in tougher water, I’ll teach you how to row with confidence and awareness.
We’ll cover:
Launching and trailering basics
River safety and hazard awareness
Boat angle, speed, and positioning
How to work with current, eddies, and seams
Obstacle navigation and back-rowing
Reading water so you know where to be before you need to be there
The river can be unforgiving. Knowing what to do before situations arise is what makes the difference between a safe float and a dangerous one. My goal is to give you the tools and confidence to row safely — so you can focus on enjoying your time on the water.
Important Notes:
Please provide your own drift boat or raft, and PFDs (life jackets) for everyone on board.
If you don’t have access to a boat, let me know — we may be able to arrange a solution.
This is a rowing-only lesson. No fishing gear is allowed on the boat.
